Specialized care without the crossing
Staten Island has fewer therapists per person than the other boroughs, and finding one who focuses on childhood trauma and the mother wound often means traveling off the island. Video sessions change that. You can work with a New York licensed clinician who specializes in this area from your own home, with no ferry schedule or bridge traffic to plan around.
Close families, quiet struggles
Many Staten Island neighborhoods are tight-knit, with families living near each other for generations. That closeness can be a gift. It can also make it harder to look honestly at a painful relationship with a parent or to set a boundary without feeling like you are betraying someone. Therapy gives you a private place to sort through those feelings at your own pace, without anyone in your life needing to know.
Miriam’s work does not ask you to confront, cut off, or forgive anyone. It asks what you needed as a child, what you need now, and how to honor both.
How sessions work
After a free consultation, sessions are scheduled in Eastern Time and held through a secure client portal that runs in a web browser. You need a private room, a stable connection, and a device with a camera. Early sessions focus on safety and your present life; deeper work with childhood experiences, IFS, inner-child work, or EMDR happens only when it fits and only at your pace.
