Therapy services for women

Care for what began then and what you need now.

My practice centers on childhood trauma, inner-child work, and the mother wound. There is also space for anxiety, depression, self-worth, relationship patterns, and chronic pain, wherever your story begins.

Patterns that often trace back to childhood.

These pages go deeper into specific experiences women bring to therapy. Each connects to the core work on childhood wounds and self-worth.

For the daughter you were

Mother wound therapy

A complicated relationship with your mother can shape how you see yourself long after childhood. Therapy offers room to understand it without being asked to blame, confront, or forgive anyone.

When yes is the only safe answer

People-pleasing therapy

You anticipate everyone’s needs, apologize reflexively, and feel guilty the moment you consider saying no. Therapy can help you understand where that began and practice a different way of relating.

When enough is never enough

Perfectionism therapy

You hold yourself to standards you would never impose on anyone else, and meeting them brings relief rather than pride. Therapy offers a place to understand where that pressure began.

When you were cared for but not seen

Therapy for adults who grew up with emotionally unavailable parents

Your needs were met on paper. You still grew up feeling alone. Therapy can help you understand that gap and learn to recognize and voice what you need now.

When it was not one event

Complex trauma therapy

Some trauma is not a single moment but a childhood. Therapy for complex trauma honors that difference and moves at the pace your nervous system can hold.

How you learned to love

Attachment patterns in relationships

If closeness makes you anxious, or distance feels safer than being known, those reactions were learned. Therapy can help you understand them and relate in ways that feel more secure.

Care for the whole experience of pain

Chronic pain therapy

Chronic pain affects more than the body. Therapy offers support for the frustration, isolation, and exhaustion that come with it, alongside tools for calming a nervous system on high alert.

Miriam Klein, LCSW

IFS, inner-child work & somatic awareness

Different ways to understand what you carry.

Miriam is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR. IFS makes room for different parts of your inner experience, including the parts that learned to protect you. EMDR offers a structured way to work with distressing childhood memories once safety is in place.

Inner-child work, somatic awareness, and practical boundary work may also be part of care. You and Miriam decide what fits your needs, with time for questions, preparation, and trust.
